Hamilton Charges To Third

BECHTELSVILLE, PA - This one didn't start out so well.

Jason Hamilton's Doug and Ann Flurer-owned No. 16 suffered a flat tire before the start of his 12-lap qualifier and was eliminated later in the event with a broken right-front shock tower.

Qualifying through the second consolation, Hamilton started 24th in the feature and drove to second by lap 23.

Attempting to unseat leader Ryan Godown following a lap-27 restart, Hamilton lost the runner-up finish to Jeff Strunk but still managed a respectable third.

The finish elevated Hamilton to fourth in the 358-Modified standings with two points-paying events remaining.

Plans for the upcoming weekend include Saturday at Grandview and the $10,000-to-win Coalcracker 100 at Big Diamond (Pa.) Raceway Sunday.
