Hamilton Third In Wild Grandview Main

BECHTELSVILLE, PA - Jason Hamilton registered an unlikely third-place finish after a wild Don Marks Memorial 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 358-Modified feature at Grandview Speedway.

Starting ninth, the Beer City No. 15 got shuffled outside the top 15 in the early laps only to gradually advance in the race's second half.

A final restart on lap 24 allowed Hamilton to drive into fourth place, where he crossed the start/finish line. A technical infraction for third-finishing Shawn Reimert bumped Hamilton to a season-high third.

The night started out on a rough note - after being collected in a heat-race skirmish Hamilton had the radiator cap blow off during his 12-lap qualifier.

With a top-10 and two top-fives in his last three starts, Hamilton has moved into eighth in the point standings.

Racing resumes Saturday at Grandview.
